At the beginning of May 2008 I left the UK for a around the world motorbike trip on my BMW F650 GS Dakar. So far, my route took me via Europe, Central Asia's Silk Route and Australia into South America. Finding a way into China with my own motorbike turned out to be the toughest cookie, but I made it through and to Pakistan, just in time before winter hit Khunjerab Pass and the Karakorum region.
From January 2009 onwards, I took a loop through South East Asia to East Timor, and in June 2009 I reached Australia. Initially, Australia was my final destination, but I've since changed plans to complete the 'around the world by motorcycle' circle.
Anfang Mai 2008 bin ich auf eine Motorrad-Weltreise mit meiner BMW F650 GS Dakar aufgebrochen. Die Reiseroute führt mich über Europa und Zentralasiens Seidenstrasse nach Australien und anschliessend Südamerika. Mit dem eigenen Motorrad durch China zu gelangen war ein harter Brocken, aber ich hab's rechtzeitig vor Wintereinbruch über den Khunjerab-Pass und das Karakorum-Gebirge geschafft.
Von Januar 2009 an bin ich durch Südost-Asien bis nach Ost-Timor gefahren, um im Juni 2009 in Australien anzukommen. Australien war mein ursprüngliches Ziel, aber nun habe ich mich zu einer Weltumrundung mit dem Motorrad entschieden.
